Manager, Interactive Communications
Department: Communications
Position Summary:
The Manager of Interactive Communications reports to the Director of Communications and is
primarily responsible for all website content, including graphic presentations, at ravinia.org
as well as Ravinia's online presence on our partners' websites--including those of other
cultural organizations, corporate sponsors and media supporters. The proper candidate must
have a working and ready knowledge of HTML, HTTP and XML, but this is a creative/marketing
position, not an IT position, so proficiency in Photoshop and other Creative Suite programs
will be highly prized. This position is responsible for the structure of the website and for
keeping content fresh, exciting and up-to-date. This manager also creates other electronic
communications including phone messages, e-newsletter, videos, email signatures, in-park
slide shows and digital advertising.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare Ravinia's website for each new season, inputting and updating new concert information, policies and features. Work with Ravinia's Director of Information Technology on structural changes and Ravinia's Director of Communications on Creative changes
- Keep Ravinia.org fresh and updated. Search the site for outdated and expired information, interfacing with colleagues to make sure we always have the most-up-to-date information posted in all areas of the site
- Create e-newsletter (weekly in spring and summer/monthly in fall and winter). Maintain email distribution lists and delivery methods(currently through MailChimp). Note: Copy is provided
- Oversee and increase Ravinia's presence on other websites (such as the cultural consortium donorth) and in new technologies
- Work with the Associate Director, Creative to make effective digital advertising on media sites
- Create marketing and informational slides for in-park video screens
- Assist the communications department in creation of videos for online use
- Create on-hold messages from provided scripts
- Create graphically pleasing and informational email signatures with the department director
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Must thoroughly understand HTML, CSS, JavaScript and data driven websites. Familiarity with Content Delivery Networks, ASP.Net, and load-balanced server environments preferred
- Must have strong graphic-arts sensibilities and design abilities
- Must be able to work in a fast-past office environment. This is not a tele-commuting job
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including PhotoShop;an HTML editing software; Apple Keynote; a file-comparison software; and a mass-email interface software is highly desirable
Education and Experience:
- Must have four-year college degree, preferably in communications, graphic design or a computer-related field of study
- Must have three years experience in electronic media, preferably under marketing or public relations umbrella

Payroll and Benefits Manager
Department: Finance and Administration
Reports to: Associate Director of Finance
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing payroll and benefits and records administration for the organization. Oversees the renewal of benefit plans and all open enrollment for staff. Works closely with the Director of Human Resources on all on boarding and employee exits plans. Responsible for implementing improvements and upgrades to payroll. system. Administers the corporate insurance program and renewal process
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate flow of payroll data to and from departments, and provide data to Paylocity for all payrolls, including union payroll
- Oversee the on boarding process for all new staff, including benefits, necessary background checks, and organizational information
- Administer all employee benefit programs, including health and life insurance, cobra, pension, deferred compensation, worker’s compensation and unemployment
- Monitor all changes in employment regulations and make sure employee posters, benefits forms, etc are upgraded regularly
- Maintain accurate and current personnel records for all staff
- Maintain vacation, sick and pto accurals
- Serve as first point of contact for staff questions about payroll and benefits
- Prepare and distribute all required communications related to payroll and benefits (e.g., W-2s, employment verification, benefits changes)
- Administer all activity related to corporate insurance, i.e., property and general liability
- Serve as point of contact workers comp auditor, insurance adjusters
- Prepares related reporting for labor, benefits and corporate insurance
- Maintain payroll and related accounts on General Ledger
- Oversee upgrades and improvements to HR & payroll systems
- Oversee the configuration to the payroll system and reporting
- Work with the Director of Human Resources on all on boarding and special projects as assigned
- Prepare departmental budgets forms for full-time staff costs
- Work on other projects as assigned
Education, Skills Required:
- Business or human resources-related degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
- PHR certification preferred
- A high degree of technical knowledge and extensive experience with payroll systems, including upgrading and improving payroll systems, preferably Paylocity
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
