Musical Exploration
Attending a CSO concert becomes a hands-on experience for children in the park. Ravinia’s Family Space has become a popular fixture before Ravinia’s 5:00 p.m. CSO Sunday concerts. Adults and children flock to the space to try their hands at playing an instrument, have fun with musical arts and crafts, or enjoy musical stories and sing-alongs.

Each summer Ravinia brings luminaries to its stages not just to perform but also to enlighten those who want to take their knowledge of great music to the next level. Stars like Stephen Sondheim, great composers like Osvaldo Golijov and musicologists like the engaging Robert Greenberg lead insightful discussions about the motivations, mood and meaning behind the music.
