When good friends are each extraordinary artists, it’s difficult to guess who’s the muse and who’s the master. Conductor/pianist Christoph Eschenbach and superstar soprano Renée Fleming are just that tight, recording and performing around the world together. Their mere presence transforms a concert into a gala event. These two exceptional artists are especially known for their collaborations on Richard Strauss, and for this showcase of gorgeous vocalism, they will add new sheen to the burnished gold of Strauss’s beloved Four Last Songs.
