The video above is a new clip from A Good Man. The documentary from Kartemquin/MPG will preview in 2011.
Last year's most talked-about show...Fondly Do We Hope... Fervently Do We Pray is now touring and a documentary film is in production.
Ravinia audiences witnessed the world premiere of an important dance theater work last summer when Ravinia commissioned Tony-winning choreographer Bill T. Jones to create a piece on the life of Abraham Lincoln. The dance world was ablaze, and the buzz was global when Bill T. Jones brought his troupe for their Ravinia debut.
Recently Bill T. Jones gave an interview to Bill Moyers regarding the work.
Kartemquin Films and Media Process Group has partnered with Ravinia Festival, American Masters and ITVS to document the entire creative process in a film called A Good Man, which was the working title of Jones’s original vision. The feature-length documentary is expected to play in festivals and theatrically next year, followed by a national broadcast on American Masters. The video above is the NEW three-minute sample clip from the film.
The dance itself is going global with tour dates being set. Here is the schedule so far:
